Reiseverlauf

Tag 1 – Ankunft in Ulaanbaatar (ULN / UB)

Upon arrival at Ulaanbaatar (Airport Code ULN, commonly referred to as UB), you will be met by our drivers and transferred to your hotel. At 7:00 p.m., we gather in the hotel lobby for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. This evening provides the perfect opportunity to discuss the photo tour and get to know one another. Overnight stay is arranged at a comfortable hotel located just five minutes from the main square.

Guests may choose any flight arriving before 5:00 p.m. Options include routes via Beijing, Seoul, Hong Kong, or Istanbul. International flights are not included in the tour package. For added comfort, we recommend arriving a day earlier to rest and enjoy a short city tour, depending on arrival time.

Meals included: Dinner.

Tag 2 – Von Ulaanbaatar nach Tsagaan Suvarga

After breakfast, we set off in our comfortable Toyota Land Cruiser 200/300, driving south through the endless steppe of Mongolia for about 4–5 hours. By midday, we arrive at Tsagaan Suvarga, a dramatic cliff formation stretching 400 meters in length and rising 40 meters high. Millions of years ago, this area was the seabed, and today its sedimentary layers display striking colors that mark different geological ages.

As the sun sets over this otherworldly landscape, we capture its beauty in unforgettable photographs. Overnight accommodation is arranged at a tourist camp.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Tag 3 – Von Tsagaan Suvarga zu den Khongor-Sanddünen

Today we rise early and head south toward the Gobi Desert, traveling through Dalanzadgad to reach the spectacular Khongor Sand Dunes. The drive takes approximately 6–7 hours across vast steppe landscapes. After the long journey, we settle into a tourist Ger camp for the night.

Depending on arrival time, we may enjoy our first photography session at sunset among the towering dunes of Khongor. The camp offers heated facilities for a comfortable stay. Each Ger accommodates four persons, with single beds, bed linen, blankets, pillows, and sleeping bags provided. Electricity is available at the camp.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Tag 4 – Khongor-Sanddünen

We begin the day with an unforgettable sunrise session at the spectacular Khongor Sand Dunes, which stretch for more than 170 km across the Gobi Desert. Known as one of the largest and most beautiful sandy regions in Mongolia, the dunes provide endless curves and dramatic shapes that glow in the first rays of morning light. Camels and local camel herders will join us for a private portrait session, offering authentic cultural encounters and striking photographic opportunities.

As the sun rises, the horizon reveals stunning mountains painted in soft pink tones, creating a magical backdrop for landscape photography. In the afternoon, we continue exploring the dunes, capturing their vast scale and unique textures. A sunset shoot highlights the golden colors of the desert, followed by a night photography session under the star‑filled sky. This day combines portraiture, cultural immersion, and landscape practice in one of Mongolia’s most iconic locations.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Tag 5 – Von Khongor-Sanddünen zu den Bayanzag (Flaming Cliffs

We rise early to capture the sunrise over the Khongor Sand Dunes, where the vast curves of sand glow in the morning light. After breakfast, we check out and begin our drive toward Bayanzag, also known as the Flaming Cliffs. Arrival is scheduled for the afternoon.

This remarkable area is world‑famous as the site of the first discovery of dinosaur eggs. Other significant finds here include specimens of Velociraptor and early eutherian mammals, making Bayanzag a place of both natural beauty and scientific importance.

As the day draws to a close, we photograph the sunset from panoramic viewpoints overlooking the cliffs. At dusk, the formations transform into a deep red glow, creating unforgettable images. Overnight stay is arranged at a tourist camp equipped with showers and electricity.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Tag 6 – Von Bayanzag nach Ulaanbaatar

We rise early for a sunrise shoot before beginning our long drive back to Ulaanbaatar. The journey takes approximately 8–10 hours across the vast steppe, offering final impressions of Mongolia’s dramatic landscapes. By evening, we arrive in UB city and check into a comfortable hotel, where you can relax after the expedition and reflect on the unforgettable experiences of the past days.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Tag 7 – Von Ulaanbaatar nach Ulgii (Westmongolei)

Early in the morning (around 6:00–8:00 a.m., exact time to be announced), we take a two‑hour commercial flight from Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii City. After breakfast, we set out toward another epic location, preparing for a sunset photography session.

This day is dedicated to a private encounter with 3–5 eagle hunters in the foothills of the majestic Altai Mountains. Against the backdrop of the sacred Tsambagarav Mountain (4,208 m), we capture portraits and cultural moments in a stunning 360‑degree setting. On one side rise sharp, rocky peaks, while on the other snow‑capped summits dominate the horizon, creating an unforgettable photographic environment.

Accommodation is arranged in a simple local hotel in Ulgii, equipped with showers, Wi‑Fi, and heating. Though modest, it provides comfort, warmth, and the chance to recharge both yourself and your batteries after a full day of adventure.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Tag 8 – Privates Adlerfestival

This morning we allow ourselves a well‑deserved rest and skip the sunrise session. Today is truly special: a private eagle festival arranged exclusively for our group. Local Kazakh hunters, dressed in traditional dark coats and scarlet hats, arrive on horseback with their magnificent Golden Eagles perched proudly on their arms. The event is organized by locals dedicated to preserving traditional Kazakh heritage, giving us a rare opportunity to witness and photograph this living tradition up close.

Guests may even invite an eagle to perch upon their arm, creating unforgettable portraits. Each hunter is available for private sessions, ensuring every photographer has the chance to capture unique images without the crowds of the public festival. With 4–6 eagle hunters, we will photograph diverse settings including mountain ridges, river bends, and grass marshlands with reflections and splashes.

By evening, we return to Ulgii (1–1.5 hour drive) and check into a simple hotel equipped with showers and Wi‑Fi, where you can recharge and review the day’s extraordinary images.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Tag 9 – Ausflug zum Tolbo-See

After a relaxed morning, we enjoy lunch in the town of Ulgii before setting out on a short drive of about one hour along a paved road to the strikingly beautiful Tolbo Lake. Surrounded by rocky viewpoints and panoramic landscapes, this deep‑blue lake offers a dramatic setting for photography.

Today we work with two eagle hunters, giving us another opportunity to capture portraits and action shots in the warm glow of sunset. Whether placing a hunter in the frame for scale against the vast scenery or focusing on intimate portraits in the last rays of light, the location provides endless creative possibilities.

As evening falls, we return to Ulgii and settle into our hotel. Though simple, the hotel offers showers, Wi‑Fi, and a comfortable environment to rest and recharge after a rewarding day.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Tag 10 – Von Ulgii nach Ulaanbaatar

After breakfast, we transfer to Ulgii Airport for our return flight to Ulaanbaatar. The flight takes approximately three hours and is included in the tour package. Arrival in UB city is scheduled around 1:00–2:00 p.m., followed by hotel check‑in.

The remainder of the day is free, giving you time to stroll through the city center of Ulaanbaatar, explore local shops, or simply relax after the expedition. This final evening offers a chance to reflect on the journey and enjoy the capital’s atmosphere before departure.

Meals included: Breakfast.

Tag 11 – Abreise aus Ulaanbaatar (ULN)

On your final day, a private car transfer will take you from your hotel to UB Airport (Airport Code ULN). You may select any flight departing today, and the transfer service is included in the tour package.
